Vietnam, Vietnot
So as it turns out, you have to get a visa before going to Vietnam, or a note from the Vietnamese embassy in Thailand saying you're OK to go there.
As I didn't have a sick-note-from-my-mother, they wouldn't let me on the flight.
Bollocks.
But the guy at the desk was sound, he gave me directions and numbers for the embassy, which is closed today, and he also somehow winged my flight onto Tuesday at no extra cost, giving me time tomorrow to get a sick-note-from-my-mother for the Vietnamese.
Seen as I was so good last night at giving out in my brief post on the blog. I'll just continue down that line for a short paragraph.
If you decide, or someone convinces you to come to Thailand, do it.
But as you'll here from most people (Except the English probably) Bangkok is not nice.
I'm here to say it's not nice too.
Use it as a hub, a base to swing through on your adventures through this wonderful country, in this mystic part of our world.
But that's it.
For those who want reasons, I could go on for a long time: Touts, smells, scams, child prostitution, smog, greed, ploys, stealing etc. etc.
But don't let that affect your decision to come, it's got a nice side as everywhere does, but there are alot nicer sides to all the others destinations in Thailand, and indeed, in this corner of Asia.
Alot of these places require you to pass through Bangkok.
Do it.
But don't be long doing it.
